Mrs. Vanessa Edwards,

Vanessa Edwards has served as choral director at Autrey Mill MS since 2014. Vanessa has taught in Fulton County and has been a GMEA member since 2005. Vanessa attended McNeese State University, earning a Bachelors of Music Education and two levels of Kodaly certification. She is a member of the VoiceCare Network, having completed the training courses in pedagogy and conducting in 2018 and 2019. She also participated in the 2021 Atlanta Conducting Summer Institute through Georgia State University as a Conducting Fellow. As a performer, she serves as staff singer at Johns Creek United Methodist Church.
Vanessa Edwards has sponsored students in District V Honor Chorus, Children's Community Choral Festival in conjunction with Atlanta Young Singers, Georgia All State Chorus, Georgia 6th Grade Statewide Honor Chorus, GA ACDA Summer Honor Chorus, ACDA National Junior High Honor Chorus, ACDA Southern Division Honor Chorus, Solo and Ensemble and Junior Theatre Festival ATL. Mrs. Edwards has served as clinician host and event organizer for District V Honor Chorus, co-organizer for District V Large Group Performance Evaluation and site host for Fulton County Elementary Choral Clinic. Vanessa has also served as pre-LGPE/festival clinician for several District V Middle Schools. Finally, Vanessa Edwards is a GMEA approved adjudicator, and is available for LGPE and Solo & Ensemble events. Vanessa has served in a leadership capacity on the Autrey Mill School Governance Council from 2015-2018 and as GA ACDA R&R Chair for Middle School/Junior High in 2018-2019. She also served as GMEA District V Secretary (2016-2020) and Choral Chair (2020-2022). She currently serves as Fulton County Schools Fine Arts Support Teacher Lead (2022-2024). |
Mr. Mason Copeland,

Mason Copeland is an alum of Indiana University Jacob’s School of Music, with a dual Master’s degree in choral conducting and organ performance. He studied choral conducting with Dominick DiOrio, and organ with Janette Fishell. In 2012 the Jacob’s School of Music awarded Mason an Associate Instructor position in the choral department after serving as a Graduate Assistant in the organ department. Before attending IU, Mason began his formal education at the Interlochen Arts Academy in northern Michigan under the tutelage of Thomas Bara. He has sung previously in the Pro Arte Singers with William Jon Gray and has performed organ recitals throughout the Midwest and Southeast. He placed first in the Regional Competition for Young Organists hosted by the Indianapolis chapter of the AGO.
Currently, Mason is the Choral Music Director at Northview High School in Johns Creek, Georgia, where he has built a strong culture of choral excellence. He also serves as the Organist/Choirmaster at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Newnan, Georgia. In the past, Mason has served as the Organist/Choirmaster of Morningside Presbyterian Church, Atlanta, taught general music classes at the Paideia School, Atlanta, and was the Interim Director of Choral Music at the Westminster Schools. |
